In Maryland, particularly Ocean City and surrounding beach towns, a good number of the better restaurants in the beach area stay open year-round, and most offer weekday dinner discounts prepared to fill empty tables that visitors crowd in warmer months. Below are examples of restaurants found there with good dining deals:
The booths at the Crabcake Factory (120th Street and Coastal Highway, Ocean City) are don’t sport a fancy ambiance, but if you focus your attention on the yummy half-price crab cake platter, you’re sure to enjoy every minute of your stay there. You may want to add a cold draft beer, some pencil-thin french fries and some crunchy coleslaw on your meal order. They offer a platter with a single five-ounce crab cake and two sides for only $7, but upgrade and order the double five-ounce all-lump crab cakes with two sides for only $14.50.
When summer hits the East Coast, locals line up for the cheap meals served at the outdoors, particularly at the deck party held each Monday at Fager’s Island Restaurant (located at 201 60th St., Ocean City). When the winter season comes, they go indoors for half-price prime rib ($18) or rockfish ($13). While the rockfish is moist and flavorful, the tasty super-size slab of prime rib is the value. These meal deals are also available on Tuesdays.
If you think that a couple of hundred for dinner at the posh Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is a tad shy from your budget, head to the chain’s location in the clubhouse at Berlin’s Glen Riddle Golf Course situated at 11501 Maid at Arms Way. They offer a “Seasonal Menu for Two” for $69.95. The deal, which is offered Sundays to Thursdays, includes a choice of house or Caesar salad; choice of five entrees, including filet mignon; two sides to share, including the signature creamed spinach; and a dessert to share.
